Getting Organized at Home

Organization is the key in any home to create a fast, efficient way to get tasks done. Besides housekeeping efforts; If you have a system, you know where to go for the tools, the supplies, the products, or even the parts that you need at any given time. Room by room, you can organize the area to maximize space and reduce clutter. It may even make for a more comfortable living space. The advantages of organization can go on and on, but the key is getting there. So what can you do in each of your rooms to be more organized? Here are some insightful ideas to get those rooms looking spacious and comforting.

Bedrooms have a lot of products in them, such as a bed or two beds if it is a kid’s room, a dresser, a closet, and many have televisions. Therefore, a TV stand is often present. This can take up a lot of room in itself. Use your closets as a seasonal change. During the summer, use the space to hang summer clothes and place your winter clothes in totes on the floor or in totes under the bed, which are often available in slim design for such a purpose. If you have a dresser, consider using it for miscellaneous items like watches, necklaces, notepads, old cell phones, etc. to get rid of that clutter. Along with that, use some of the drawers to store unused clothes during seasonal changes or use them to place items like socks, underwear, sleep clothes, exercise clothes, or even pants.

Kitchens usually have a wide assortment of things stored that really don’t relate to the kitchen. It becomes a dumping ground. You can use a small drawer to store pieces and parts or small tools that are commonly used like a hammer, a screwdriver, pliers, scissors, rulers, etc. Add wall shelves or cabinets for things like spices, thimbles, ceramic collectables, or pictures. If you stock up on soda or juices, consider placing them in the garage by the door or on a shelf there. Shoes can be placed on a shoe rack or in totes side by side near the door if you have tons of shoes in which some don’t get worn as much. Aside from those possibilities, grab the cups with parts in them or the medicines lying around and place them in containers. Medicines can go in a kitchen cabinet too so that you have more counter space.
